Assam JNV Admission 2024 – Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has published the notification of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test, 2024 for admission into Class VI of the academic session 2024 – 2025. Students who are interested and eligible to be enrolled in Assam’s Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas may submit to the JNVST examination.
The Government of India established Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986). JNVs are currently located in 27 states and 8 union territories. These are co-educational residential schools that are entirely funded and managed by the Government of India through an autonomous organization called the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

Facility for Students Getting Assam JNV Admission
Students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya will get the following benefits –
->The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and thereafter English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science.
->Students of the JNVs appear for board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
->While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi.
->However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, all Girl students and the students whose family income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted.
->In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ST & Girl students and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged @ Rs.1500/- per month or actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less.
->However, VVN shall not be less than Rs.600/- per student per month.
Eligibility Criteria of Assam Navodaya Admission
Geo location: Only correct residents of the district in which the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located and students in class V in the same district are eligible to apply for Assam JNV Admission 2024.
Age Limit: A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 1st May 2012 and after 31st July 2014 (Both dates are inclusive). This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC).
Educational Qualification: A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session 2023-24 in a Government/ Government aided or other recognized schools or ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he/she is seeking admission.
No of Attempt/s: No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time, under any circumstances.
Rural Quota: At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates selected from rural areas of the district. The remaining seats are open which will be filled on merit from both Urban and Rural Area candidates of the district as per reservation criteria.
A candidate seeking admission under the rural quota must have studied in Classes-III, IV and V completing full academic sessions from the Government/ Government Aided/Government recognized schools located in rural areas. However, the candidate should study full academic session under rural area in Class-V from the same district where admission is sought.

The application process for the JNV Selection Test has been streamlined through an online process. Registration is free and can be done through the NVS admission portal at www.navodaya.gov.in. Following the announcement of the results, selected candidates will be subjected to verification of documents of domicile, age, eligibility, and so on.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test Details
The selection test will be of two-hour duration from 11:30 am to 01:30 pm and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test – 2023 Date
JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2024 – 2025 will be held in On Saturday, the Saturday, 20th January 2024 at 11.30 A.M. in one phase for all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas of Assam.
Admit Cards of Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test
The admission cards will be made accessible in due course, as determined by NVS, and will be shown on the application portal. Before the JNVST, candidates/parents will be able to download their admit cards for free.
Assam JNV Admission Result
The JNV Selection Test 2024 results are expected to be revealed in March/April 2024. Candidates can access their results via the admissions site. The outcome will also be presented at the offices of those involved:

- ii. District Education Officer
- iii. District Magistrate
- iv. Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti of the Region.

The Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya concerned, will also inform the selected candidates through SMS on the registered mobile number followed by a speed post. The entire admission process for the session 2024-25 will be closed latest by 31st December 2024.
