SAMARTH Admission Portal – Directorate of Higher Education released a notification for In a bid to streamline the admission process for Under Graduate Programmes in all Higher Education Institutes of Assam, Govt. of Assam has launched a common online admission portal called SAMARTH. SAMARTH Admission Portal will facilitate the admission process of BA, BCom, BSc, etc in online mode as per New Education Policy 2020 in Assam.
The National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology NMEICT-II (now NMEICT-III) launched the “SAMARTH Admission Portal” initiative by the Ministry of Education in 2019, with the goal of enabling universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through a digital framework for planning, managing, delivering, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and other stakeholders. As part of the project, HEIs are given access to a comprehensive ERP that is fully managed, cloud-based, and designed specifically for HEIs in the nation.

The students aspiring to take admissions in all the government and aided colleges of Assam and universities can now use this integrated admission platform to get admitted in the desired course and institution. Students would now not have to move from place to place for submitting admission forms.
Further, the students registering themselves in the portal can apply in ten colleges of his/ her choice. The admission would be given in the college and course of the choice of the student on the basis of merit. Apart from being convenient the portal would also save the money of the students.
How to Apply for Assam College Admission?
Thus, the Assam government has ended the previous UG admissions method as of the current academic year. All students who passed the Higher Secondary final exam must now apply online for Bachelor’s degree programmes through the Samarth Portal. After completing the online application procedure, students can accept admission at the college of their choice based on a merit list. The Samarth online application process is described in more detail below.
